The final step in achieving full remote control over our aerial rigs — whether it’s The Illuminaut head or the LuxHammer — was focus.

Accessing fixtures by ladder or lift was never a practical option, especially on fast-moving sets where downtime isn’t an option. To solve this, we worked closely with electrical engineers to develop our own remote controlled focus motor systems.

These units deliver precise, incremental flood and spot adjustments remotely, allowing lighting teams to fine-tune fixtures without interrupting a take or losing valuable shooting time.

Our focus motors can be fitted to almost any manual focus fixture, turning it into a fully automated unit. It’s one more way IE is removing friction from set life — while giving DPs and gaffers the control they need, exactly when they need it.
